Manufacturing and fulfillment are the same operation.

Supplement brands typically run two separate logistics chains — a contract manufacturer who produces finished goods and a third-party logistics partner who receives, stores, and ships them. That split creates delays, double handling costs, and a persistent gap between production completion and fulfillment readiness. Every pallet that moves from a manufacturing floor to a separate 3PL warehouse adds transit time, freight cost, and one more handoff where quality and timing can go wrong.

Sun Nutraceuticals operates differently. Supplement fulfillment runs in the same facility as production. When a batch passes final QC and moves off the packaging line, it does not ship to an external warehouse — it moves to the fulfillment floor in the same building. The result: finished goods ship the same week they are packed, consumer orders process without a freight delay between manufacturer and 3PL, and the entire chain from ingredient receipt to consumer doorstep runs under one team and one quality system.

For brands managing tight cash cycles — DTC founders, Amazon operators, practitioners building a white-label supplement line — eliminating the manufacturer-to-3PL gap has a direct effect on how fast inventory turns and how profitably a brand operates at early scale. Warehousing fees, freight-to-3PL, receiving charges, and coordination overhead are real line items. Removing them is not a minor efficiency gain. It is a structural advantage in cash flow and launch speed.

What our supplement fulfillment service covers

Sun's integrated fulfillment service handles the full downstream logistics chain for supplement brands. The six core services below represent what we run in-house on a standing basis.

Direct-to-consumer pick-and-pack

Individual consumer orders processed on a per-unit basis with same-day or next-business-day turnaround. Custom packing slips, branded inserts, and outer packaging are supported. Orders are picked, packed, and labeled on the Fort Lauderdale fulfillment floor and handed to your designated carrier.

Amazon FBA preparation

Full FBA prep including FNSKU labeling, poly-bagging, bubble-wrapping, and case-pack configuration per Amazon's current inbound requirements. Shipment plans are built to specification and booked to Amazon's inbound routing. We stay current on Amazon prep requirements across capsule bottles, powder pouches, and multi-SKU configurations.

B2B retail and distributor fulfillment

Pallet builds and palletized or floor-loaded shipments for retail chains, natural grocery partners, and wholesale distributors. Retailer-compliant compliance labels, bills of lading, and packing documentation handled in-house. LTL and FTL carrier coordination included.

Supplement 3PL storage

Climate-controlled warehouse storage in Fort Lauderdale with SKU-level and lot-level inventory tracking. Appropriate for finished goods, raw materials awaiting production runs, and packaging components. {TODO: confirm available pallet positions and monthly storage rate with Sun operations team.}

Kitting and multi-SKU bundles

Multi-SKU bundles and promotional kits assembled on the fulfillment floor. Common for Amazon Subscribe & Save programs, retail combo packs, influencer gifting kits, and launch sample packages. Bundle configurations are agreed before production closeout to ensure pick-list accuracy.

Returns processing

Consumer return assessment and restocking per brand-specified disposition rules. Returns are logged at the SKU and lot level and included in your monthly inventory report. Damaged or expired units are quarantined and disposed of per applicable cGMP documentation requirements.

How supplement logistics work at Sun

From the moment a production batch closes to the moment finished goods reach a consumer's door or a retailer's dock, here is the sequence:

  1. Production closeout. Your batch finishes QC and packaging on the production lines. A batch record is issued and third-party Certificates of Analysis are received. Finished goods are accepted into fulfillment inventory with a formal lot receipt.
  2. Receive and catalog. Finished goods move from the production floor to the fulfillment area in the same facility — no outbound freight, no receiving delay. Every SKU, lot number, and case count is logged in inventory. You receive a receipt notification the same day.
  3. Order routing. Orders route to fulfillment via your sales channels — DTC orders from your storefront, FBA shipment plans from Seller Central, or B2B purchase orders by EDI or PDF. {TODO: confirm live integrations with operations team — Shopify, WooCommerce, and manual uploads are likely candidates.}
  4. Pick, pack, and label. Each order is picked against your packing specification — box type, inserts, branded tape, packing slip format — then labeled with the appropriate carrier and service level. Amazon FBA orders are built to the shipment plan, labeled per FNSKU, and staged for inbound carrier pickup.
  5. Ship. Outbound shipments leave the facility daily. DTC orders ship same-day or next-business-day. FBA shipments are booked and dropped per Amazon's inbound routing instructions. B2B orders ship LTL or FTL with full BOL documentation and tracking.
  6. Report. Inventory on hand, orders shipped, and outbound freight summary are reported on an agreed cadence. Lot-level traceability is maintained across the full fulfillment record for quality and compliance purposes.

Who Sun's supplement fulfillment is built for

The integration between production and logistics is most valuable for specific types of supplement operators. Sun's fulfillment service is a strong fit for:

  • DTC supplement brands shipping direct to consumers who need reliable, next-business-day order processing without managing a separate 3PL relationship or absorbing freight between manufacturer and warehouse
  • Amazon supplement sellers who need FBA prep done by a team that knows supplement packaging requirements — FNSKU compliance, case-pack configurations, and shipment plan execution — rather than a general-merchandise 3PL learning the category
  • Emerging brands at 5,000–10,000 units who cannot justify the overhead of a standalone fulfillment contract but need professional, documented logistics from the first shipment
  • Established operators running scheduled production who want finished goods in market the same week they ship off the line, with no freight lag between production and consumer
  • White-label and private-label brands working with Sun from formulation through production who want a complete supply chain under one contract, one contact, and one quality system

Why Sun's fulfillment is different from a standalone supplement 3PL

Most third-party logistics providers in the supplement space receive finished goods, store them, and ship them. That is the whole job. They have no visibility into your production run, no connection to your batch records, and no stake in whether your COA cleared before the goods moved. The disconnect between your contract manufacturer and your 3PL is your problem to manage, and it typically means a 1–2 week lag between production completion and fulfillment readiness.

Sun's fulfillment operation is built as a downstream extension of production, not as a separate business. When your batch closes, the same facility that produced it handles the logistics. There is no freight to an external 3PL, no receiving delay on the far end, and no minimum pallet move requirement to get your product into a pick-able location. For DTC brands, this means orders can ship the same week production finishes. For Amazon sellers, it means FBA shipments are built and booked while the product is still in the building — not two weeks after a pallet hits a 3PL dock.

This is not a pitch against maintaining an existing 3PL relationship. If you have a 3PL that works, Sun's production can ship to it exactly as any contract manufacturer would. The integrated option exists for brands who want the efficiency — and the accountability — of one partner from formulation through front door. At early scale in particular, eliminating the logistics coordination layer is worth as much as any reduction in per-unit manufacturing cost.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to manufacture with Sun to use your fulfillment service?

Sun's fulfillment operation is designed as an integrated extension of production — the primary use case is brands manufacturing with us who want a single supply chain from production to consumer. If you have specific logistics needs and want to discuss options, reach out and we will tell you honestly whether we are a fit. Our main strength is the integration with production, not standalone 3PL for brands manufacturing elsewhere.

What is the lead time from production completion to first shipment?

Finished goods are available for fulfillment the same week they are packed. Once a batch closes QC and receives into fulfillment inventory, orders ship within one to three business days depending on order volume and carrier scheduling.

Can you handle Amazon FBA preparation and FNSKU labeling?

Yes. We handle full Amazon FBA prep: FNSKU labeling, poly-bagging, bubble-wrapping where required, case-pack configuration, and shipment plan builds per Amazon's inbound requirements. Our team stays current with Amazon's packaging and prep requirements for supplement formats — capsule bottles, powder pouches, and multi-SKU case configurations.

What order types do you fulfill?

We fulfill three main order types: direct-to-consumer orders (individual consumer shipments via USPS, UPS, or FedEx), Amazon FBA inbound shipments (case packs prepared to Amazon specifications), and B2B orders to retailers and distributors (pallet or floor-load shipments with BOL documentation). All three are supported under the same fulfillment operation.

How does lot-level inventory tracking work?

Every batch that closes production and receives into fulfillment inventory is logged at the SKU and lot number level. Lot traceability is maintained across the fulfillment lifecycle — receipt, storage, pick, and ship — to support quality investigations and any recall requirements. You receive receipt confirmations when batches close into inventory.

Can you fulfill for brands that manufacture elsewhere?

Our primary model is integrated manufacturer-plus-fulfillment for brands producing with Sun. Brands manufacturing elsewhere can ship finished goods to our Fort Lauderdale facility for fulfillment, but we evaluate those arrangements on a case-by-case basis. Contact us with your volume, SKU count, and origin and we will assess the fit.

What is the minimum storage or order volume to use Sun's fulfillment service?

Minimum commitments are assessed based on your production volume with Sun. For brands manufacturing with us, the fulfillment arrangement is scoped as part of the same project. Reach out with your projected order volume, SKU count, and channel mix — we will provide a clear quote specific to your program.
